The centre's main task is to research measures and strategies to deal with epidemics and pandemics. This includes studies of infection control methods, evaluation of health policy and analyzes of the population's response to various measures. CEIR contributes to developing evidence-based knowledge that can be used in decision-making processes related to public health.
The research at CEIR is interdisciplinary and involves collaboration between experts in epidemiology, community medicine, statistics and other relevant disciplines. The center participates in national and international projects, and publishes its findings in scientific journals. Through its work, CEIR seeks to improve preparedness and response to future health crises, as well as to increase understanding of how epidemic measures affect society.
