DSB region east is part of the Directorate for Community Security and Emergency Preparedness (DSB), which is responsible for strengthening society's ability to deal with crises and disasters. The office in Oslo focuses on preparedness, security and risk analysis, and works to develop guidelines and strategies to improve society's resilience.
As part of DSB's activities, the regional office contributes to coordinating the efforts between various actors within the public sector, as well as with private actors and voluntary organisations. This includes, among other things, training, exercises and information work to ensure that preparedness is well rooted in society. DSB region east plays an important role in facilitating cooperation and information exchange across different levels and sectors.
