Karma Tashi Ling Buddhist community is Norway's oldest Buddhist community for Tibetan Buddhism. The society's main aim is to teach the Tibetan-Buddhist tradition and facilitate Buddhist philosophy and meditation practice. The temple offers introductory courses in Buddhism and meditation, as well as regular activities such as open meditation and teaching.
In addition to meditation and teaching, Karma Tashi Ling offers medical qigong and yoga. Retreats and special courses with experienced teachers are also organised. The community engages in charity work through Shenpen Aid, which aims to help people in the Himalayas. A focus on eco-Buddhism and sustainable practices is also an important part of the society's activities. Karma Tashi Ling is celebrating its 50th anniversary, which marks a long history of involvement in Buddhist practice in Norway.
