The Madina Institute is an independent academic organization focused on promoting a correct understanding of Islam. The organization offers events that include the complete recitation of Imam al-Tirmidhi's al-Shama'il al-Muhammadiyya, and allows participants to receive Ijaza, a form of certification, upon full participation. Participants also get access to a digital copy of Al-Shama'il al-Muhammadiyya, as well as a notebook and writing equipment for their own notes.
The institute emphasizes accessibility, and offers both physical and digital participation, including the ability to participate from anywhere in the world via Zoom. During the events, lunch, tea, coffee and snacks are served. The Madina Institute aims to prioritize the Koran and Sunnah, and works to present a peaceful and loving message about Islam, as a counterweight to extreme and hateful ideologies. The organization has an international presence with chapters in several countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Nigeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and Norway.
