Our Savior's Orthodox Church is the first Russian Orthodox congregation in Norway in modern times, established in 1996. The congregation is named after Saint Olga of Kiev, who acts as its heavenly patron. In 2020, the congregation had almost 4,000 members, which shows significant growth and commitment among the faithful.
The church was previously located in an apartment behind the castle in Oslo, but got its own church building in 2003. Vår Frelser's Orthodox Church is located by Vår Frelser's cemetery, and serves as an important meeting point for the congregation's members. Saint Olga is known for her work in spreading Christianity in pagan Rus, which gives a historical context to the congregation's name and purpose.
