Alsalam Hijab & More was established in 2019 by brothers Issam and Emad Ajami, who came to Norway from Syria in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The store is located in Housmannsgate 19, in the center of Oslo, and aims to offer an inclusive shopping experience for all customers. The brothers have taken inspiration from their homeland and want to create a pleasant atmosphere in the store.
The selection at Alsalam includes a wide range of products, from traditional hijabs and shawls to Arabic dresses and prayer clothes. In addition, handmade goods such as tablecloths, carpets and art are imported directly from Damascus. The store also has an online store available on Facebook, which gives customers the opportunity to shop from anywhere.
