Bryn Orkesterforening is an amateur orchestra that was founded in 1952 and is based in Oslo. The orchestra consists of approximately 25 members with varied musical backgrounds and ages. The rehearsals take place every Monday at Bryn School, where the members, under the direction of conductor Petter Nyborg, work with a varied repertoire that includes both classical and modern works.
The orchestra plays 5-6 concerts a year and also organizes social gatherings such as summer parties and Christmas parties. Bryn Orkesterforening attaches great importance to both musical and social development, and has an inclusive environment that encourages participation from new members, especially those who play string instruments or clarinet. In addition to weekly rehearsals, the orchestra offers seminars and open concerts for the public.
