Halvor Festervoll Melien is a baritone who works as a concert and opera singer in Europe. He is known for his interpretations of Bach and has collaborated with all the Norwegian symphony orchestras, as well as several renowned ensembles such as the BBC Philharmonic, Les Talens Lyriques, Concertgebouw Kamerorkest, DR Symphony Orchestra, Det Norske Kammerorkester and Barokkanerne. Melien has also been part of the soloist ensemble at the Norwegian Opera.
In addition to his work with classical repertoire, Halvor Festervoll Melien has engaged in new music and has collaborated with several contemporary composers, which has led to first performances and CD recordings. The German Lied genre is an important part of his artistic activity, and he is currently participating in three different Lied projects.
