Norsk Scenekunstbruk AS is Norway's largest manager of performing arts for children and young people. The organization mediates around 2,000 performances annually, which reach over 200,000 young people each year. The goal is to ensure that all children and young people, regardless of background, get the opportunity to experience professional performing arts. With a varied repertoire of performing arts productions, they contribute to enriching the cultural life of this age group.
In addition to the dissemination of performances, Norsk Scenekunstbruk functions as a competence network for the performing arts field. They organize Showbox, an annual festival for performing arts for children and young people, which was established in 2005. The festival has developed into the largest international performing arts festival in Norway with a focus on this target group, and includes both open audience events and a broad specialist programme.
