Oslo Open is an artist-led and non-profit organization that was established in 2000. Its main activity is to organize an annual art weekend in April, where professional visual artists and craftsmen with studios in Oslo municipality open their doors to the public. During this weekend, visitors can experience the work of 450 participating artists, providing a unique opportunity to see art where it is created.
The organization collaborates with several actors, including Art in the Workplace (Kpa), to promote the purchase of works of art. In addition, Oslo Open offers artist stays for selected artists in historic buildings, as well as seminars that focus on accessibility in the art environment. Permanent partners include recognized institutions such as the Astrup Fearnley Museum and the National Museum, which contributes to strengthening the art environment in Oslo.
Oslo Open aims to make the city a more accessible city of art, and also offers a professional visiting program for art enthusiasts. Through its activities, the organization works to promote art and culture in the local community.
