Ssens Trio was established in 2014 by three Norwegian musicians with considerable international experience. The trio's members, Sølve Sigerland (violin), Henninge Landaas (viola) and Ellen Margrete Flesjø (cello), share a common interest in chamber music and the string trio repertoire. They have a particular focus on modern Norwegian music, and their performances are characterized by powerful virtuosity and a deep dedication to the programme.
The trio has previously interpreted well-known works by composers such as Beethoven and Mozart, but has now turned its attention to Norwegian music. Their recordings were made in a church with excellent acoustics, which helps to highlight the unique characteristics of each composer. Ssens Trio has received recognition for its releases, including Pizzicato Magazine's "Supersonic Award" and several nominations for prestigious awards such as ICMA and Opus Klassik.
