Urbant Verksted is an arts organization established in 2018 by two environmental workers with over ten years of experience working with children and young people in Oslo. The organization was founded as a response to the need for good activity offers after school, as well as to give young people opportunities to develop creatively and socially. With a focus on urban activities, Urbant Verksted offers workshops for children and young people, where popular courses include graffiti, shaving, drawing and music.
Urbant Verksted emphasizes social sustainability and creative solutions, and aims to engage the participants in meaningful activities. According to feedback from the participants, 90% have experienced increased faith in their own career, while 82% reported increased self-confidence and faith in their own skills. In addition to workshops, the organization offers junior workshops and acts as a resource and information center for young people through a blog. The atmosphere in the workshop is described as engaging and inspiring, which contributes to a positive learning experience.
