InTheCloset is an art gallery and an artist-run initiative founded by Vsevolod Kovalevskij in Tromsø in 2020. The original exhibition space was located in the closet of the artist's apartment. In 2022 the gallery moved to Oslo, and in 2023 it opened a new branch in Vilnius under the name InTheCloset:Vilnius.
The initiative's name has a double meaning, as it refers to the expression "in the closet", which is often used for people who are reticent to reveal their sexual or gender identity. The gallery focuses on showing artistic projects that deal with themes such as gender, identity, visibility, censorship, inclusion and the challenges associated with discussions around these topics. InTheCloset acts as a platform for artists who want to explore and shed light on these important societal issues.
