Kunstnerforbundet is an artist-run and non-commercial exhibition institution that has been part of the Norwegian art scene since 1910. As one of Scandinavia's oldest artist-run galleries, it focuses on presenting changing exhibitions of contemporary art and crafts. The institution aims to promote artistic expression and provide a platform for both established and upcoming artists.
In addition to exhibitions, Kunstnerforbundet offers events and exhibition openings, which give the public the opportunity to engage with the art and the artists. The gallery is open for applications for exhibition space for the coming year, which gives artists the opportunity to showcase their work. The Artists' Association also holds open evenings in connection with special exhibitions, and shares interviews with artists as well as news about current exhibitions to keep the public informed about art life.
