The Art Centers in Norway (Kin) is a nationwide membership association that includes 15 regional art centres. The association functions as an artist-led dissemination institution and aims to promote visual art in various forms. Kin offers project funds for regional art projects, which contributes to the development of the art field in Norway.
In addition to supporting artists and exhibitions, such as "Resilient Threads", Kin collaborates with sociologists and social economists to conduct objective analyzes of the role of art in society. The association also has a focus on art in public spaces through the KiOR initiative. Kin also publishes reports and publications that provide insight into the art field, and which can be useful resources for both artists and researchers.
