Christiania Art Academy, also known as Christiania Kunstakademi, is an art school that offers courses and studies in classical drawing and painting. The school has a varied teaching offer that ranges from short courses to full-time studies, adapted to students at all levels and of all ages, including both children and adults. The teaching is designed to meet different needs, so that students can study to different extents and combine their studies with work.
The school focuses on basic principles in classical art, and offers a solid introduction to both theoretical and practical aspects of drawing and painting. Head teacher Jan Cato Bøttger, who has over 40 years' experience in teaching and art, is educated at the Norwegian Academy of Fine Arts. Christiania Art Academy uses its own classical teaching method to ensure thorough and high-quality training in the art subjects.
