The snow memorial is located on the slope up from the lawn at Ola Narr in Oslo. The area has historical significance, as it was formerly the site of one of the city's many ski jumps. Today, there are only three ski jumps left in Oslo, and the old remains of the ski jump at Ola Narr can still be observed, although they are partially hidden by tall grass and trees. The jump edge, which is made of stone, bears witness to a time when snow was more prominent in the area.
To mark the loss of snow and as a reminder of climate change, Sandnes has established a flower bed with white flowers where the runaway once was. This flower bed acts as a symbol of what has been, and gives a visual impression of what is now gone. The memorial combines historical significance with a modern reflection on environmental challenges, and stands as testimony to the changes in the climate.
