Myntgata quarter is a historic area located within Akershus fortress in Oslo. The area has roots dating back to the 17th century and was originally part of Kvadraturen, but was demolished to make way for fortifications. The buildings in Myntgata quarter are characterized by brick and brick half-timbering, with constructions dating from the middle of the 19th century.
During World War II, the area was used by the Wehrmacht, and after the war it was rebuilt to house offices for both military and civilian authorities. Today, the Myntgata quarter houses ByKuben, which functions as Oslo's center for urban ecology. In 2017, the area was sold to Oslo municipality for NOK 338.2 million.
