NRK's Minnelund at Marienlyst is a memorial dedicated to the well-known Norwegian writer and singer Alf Prøysen. The memorial was unveiled in 1971 and is built from stones sent in from various parts of the country. This gives the place a national significance, as it represents a collection of contributions from all over Norway.
The initiative to create the memorial grove was taken by Kjell Rydningen, who was employed by NRK for 50 years and had a close collaboration with both Alf Prøysen and Erik Bye. During the past year, the memorial grove has undergone an upgrade, which has been received with great joy by Kjell Rydningen's widow, Ellen Rydningen. The memorial grove is located in the ground below NRK's radio reception, and functions as a quiet place for reflection and remembrance of Prøysen's contribution to Norwegian culture.
