The Vigelandsfontenen is a central part of the Vigelandsanlegt, located in Frognerparken in Oslo. This artistic project, which is Gustav Vigeland's life's work, contains over 200 sculptures made in granite, bronze and wrought iron. The sculptures were created between 1924 and 1943, and the park is known for its unique combination of art and nature. The Vigelandsfontenen serves as the starting point for the park, which was originally planned for Eidsvoll Plass.
In addition to the fountain, the Monolith and a sculpture-rich bridge are important elements in the park. The monolith, which is one of the most famous sculptures, is made of 121 human figures carved out of one piece of stone. The Vigelands facility is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, and the park is always open to the public.
