Grorud School's Music Corps, founded in 1911, is one of Oslo's and Norway's oldest music corps. The band offers music and drill activities for children and young people aged 8 to 17 years. With around 60 members from the areas of Romsås, Grorud and Nordtvet, the corps focuses on creating an inclusive and social environment where friendships can be developed across grade levels and schools.
The corps only uses professional instructors with experience in teaching children, which ensures a high quality of teaching. Members are given the opportunity to learn to play instruments or to dance drill, and both instruments and uniforms are included in the membership fee, which helps keep costs down for participants. Grorud School's Music Corps has thus established itself as an important player in the music and cultural offer for young people in the local environment.
