Bjørka is a workshop for photography that has functioned as a central production site and studio community for camera-based artists since 1998. The foundation has specialized in both analogue color photography and modern digital techniques, and has thus gathered a unique expertise in photography. Bjørka has been an important platform for the development of several renowned artists, who have distinguished themselves both nationally and internationally.
In addition to her focus on photography, Bjørka offers guest lectures and art exhibitions, which help promote artistic dialogue and collaboration. The workshop also organizes activities such as "Are you a robot?" and "Can art be a climate activist?", which addresses current topics within art and society. Bjørka also participates in international projects, such as Our Time on Earth in Québec, which further emphasizes their involvement in the global art environment.
