Dreyers Forlag, established in 1942 by the poet Alf Larsen and Barthold Butenschøn, has a long history as a cultural publishing house. Over the years, the publishing house has undergone several mergers, a closure and a resurrection. It has also been run under the name Andresen & Butenschøn AS. Today, Dreyers Forlag specializes in non-fiction and offers a wide selection of books ranging from classics to new titles.
The publisher focuses on socially relevant topics and actively engages in current debates and discussions. Dreyers Forlag also has an online shop that makes it easy for customers to order books. As part of the publishing house Forente Forlag, Dreyers Forlag continues to be an important player in Norwegian literature and cultural communication.
