NODAT, or Norwegian organization for animal-assisted measures, is a non-profit organization that was founded on 13 September 2008. The organization aims to promote health with the help of animals, and offers voluntary animal-assisted measures as a supplement to existing health services in Norway. NODAT focuses on improving both mental and physical health through interaction with animals, and directs its measures towards people in different life situations.
The organization collaborates with professionals in health and care to develop and implement health promotion measures. NODAT attaches great importance to animal welfare and ethics in their work, which is a central part of their approach to animal-assisted methods in therapy.
