ByBi is an environmental organization and Oslo's urban beekeeping association, established in 2012. The organization has approximately 300 members and aims to promote biological diversity in the urban environment. ByBi offers hives for small-scale urban beekeepers, giving members the opportunity to produce honey. The organization focuses on the interaction between bees, flowers and people, and works to improve the living conditions for pollinating insects.
In addition to the production of honey with unique, place-specific signatures from various parts of Oslo, ByBi engages the local community through courses, professional meetings and tasting evenings. Membership provides access to specialist services and resources that support both novice and experienced beekeepers. ByBi also collaborates with companies to spread knowledge about the life and work of bees, as well as to promote initiatives that benefit the environment.
