SABIMA, or the Council for Biological Diversity, is an environmental organization whose main goal is to stop the loss of natural diversity in Norway. The organization focuses on the conservation of biological diversity, which includes animals, plants and fungi. Through various measures, SABIMA works to protect and preserve bogs, which play an important role in carbon storage and flood mitigation.
In addition to the work with the marshes, SABIMA also has a commitment to marine nature and the management of marine resources. The organization works to support ecosystems in the sea and informs about threats to Norwegian nature. SABIMA promotes peat-free horticulture as part of its work to preserve nature and educate about the importance of taking care of the biological diversity in the country.
