Deich is a museum located in the heart of Oslo, at Hammersborg. It is part of a larger investment in Oslo's cultural scene, with a focus on contemporary photography and related experiences. The museum includes Fotografiska Oslo, which is planned to open in 2028. This project is part of a transformation of the old main library, where historical elements have been preserved to create a unique atmosphere.
One of the central initiatives at Deich is the project "On the stairs", which explores the power and meaning of photography. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the Møller collection, which is part of the museum's offer. Jane Throndsen is employed as director of Fotografiska Oslo and will lead the work to develop the museum's program and activities. Deich aims to be a gathering point for people and photography, and will contribute to enriching Oslo's cultural life.
