BYMIF is a city-wide center for unaccompanied minor refugees, located in Oslo. The center has extensive experience with follow-up of unaccompanied minor refugees and young people with a short stay in Norway. It offers group foster homes for young people with a minority background, as well as evening services that strengthen existing housing measures. The target group for the services is young people between the ages of 12 and 25, with a particular focus on those who have experienced traumatic events and have insufficient schooling.
The center has large apartments with up to five bedrooms in Alna district, and the young people receive follow-up from professional consultants who offer guidance and support. BYMIF has a coordinating role in collaboration with various agencies, which contributes to a comprehensive approach to the needs of young people. The offers are available both to young people who are part of other measures and to those who wish to receive support on their own.
