Økokrim is a state agency with headquarters in Oslo, whose main focus is to prevent and fight economic and environmental crime. The agency functions as a national inter-agency analysis and intelligence center (NTAES), where they collect and analyze information to strengthen efforts against various forms of crime. Økokrim handles cases related to workplace crime, corruption and money laundering, among other areas.
In addition to investigation and prevention, Økokrim offers guidance and tips to the public to avoid fraud. They also publish the specialist magazine Miljøkrim, which deals with current topics in environmental crime. Through its international cooperation, Økokrim contributes to a wider effort against crime, and they publish reports and statistics that shed light on threats and developments in areas of crime.
