Kripos, or the Criminal Police Center, is a unit under the Norwegian Police Directorate, located in Oslo. The organisation's main task is to assist the police districts with the investigation of serious criminal cases, as well as to collect and analyze information on crime at national level. Kripos works with a number of different forms of crime, including organized crime, human trafficking and cybercrime.
In addition to investigations, Kripos is also responsible for developing and implementing crime prevention measures. They offer support and expertise to local police districts and collaborate with international police authorities to combat cross-border crime. Kripos plays an important role in the Norwegian police system by contributing to a more efficient and coordinated effort against crime.
