The Norwegian Directorate of Health is a government agency whose main task is to provide advice and guidance to health and care services in Norway. The agency focuses on promoting good public health and prevention, and works to ensure equal health services for all residents. Through various initiatives and projects, they contribute to strengthening the healthcare system and improving healthcare provision in the country.

In addition to advice, the directorate offers information on digitization and e-health, and prepares national recommendations and requirements to be followed by health actors. They are also involved in health preparedness, and publish revised circulars on drug handling to ensure the safe use of drugs. Furthermore, they administer several grant schemes that support health projects, which contributes to the development of health and care services in Norway.
