Oslo and Akershus Home Guard District 02 (HV-02) is part of the Home Guard, which forms Norway's first-line defense with a total of 40,500 soldiers. The district is responsible for the protection of both military and civilian installations, and consists of enlisted soldiers as well as personnel from primary service. The Home Guard plays an important role in national security and preparedness.
The district also assists civil authorities in situations such as natural disasters and accidents. To increase awareness of the Home Guard, the "Uniform at work day" is organized, among other things. Furthermore, a strategy has been developed for future development towards 2030, which aims to strengthen the preparedness and efficiency of the task forces.
