The Storting's ombudsman's committee for the Norwegian Armed Forces has as its main task the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with service obligations under the Defense Act, as well as those who have served in international operations. The ombudsman works to improve conditions for employees in the defense and has a particular focus on rights and complaint rights within the defense sector.
As well as offering support and guidance to veterans, the tribunal provides information on the rights and obligations of military personnel. Visits from international representatives are also arranged for the exchange of experience, which contributes to a broader understanding of challenges and solutions within the defense sector. Through its work, the Storting's ombudsman's committee for the Armed Forces seeks to contribute to a more efficient operation of the Armed Forces.
