The Akershus Fortress Foundation for Art and Culture (SAKK) has its origins in the historic Akershus Fortress, which has a history spanning over 700 years. The foundation aims to promote art and culture through a varied program of theater and concert experiences. Events such as "Doomed Queens" and "Tons of Rock at the Fortress" are examples of what is on offer, and the foundation uses unique premises such as Blykjelleren and the Castle Church for its activities.
In addition to the regular events, SAKK organizes special events such as "Adventure Day at Karpedammen". The foundation is also responsible for the operation of the Karpedammen stage and collaborates with other businesses at the fortress to develop the area into a central cultural area in Norway, in parallel with the Norwegian Armed Forces' other fortifications. The historic atmosphere at Akershus Fortress provides an exciting setting for the cultural experiences on offer.
