Alternative to Violence (ATV) is a treatment and competence center that specializes in violence in close relationships. The center was established in 1987 and was the first of its kind in Europe. ATV offers treatment to both perpetrators and victims of violence, and has an inclusive focus that includes all genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, religions and functional abilities.
The aim of ATV is to help perpetrators of violence to become safe and caring partners and parents, while at the same time working to increase safety and security in families. The center also functions as a professional framework within the topic of violence in the family and treatment, and emphasizes knowledge development and treatment as central elements in its work.
