Akademikerforbundet is a membership organization for people with a minimum of three years' university or college education, which corresponds to at least 60 weighted numbers or 180 credits. The organization has a broad professional diversity, and its members include child welfare educators, foster carers, social workers, political scientists, psychologists, economists and lawyers. The members work mainly in administration, management, finance, personnel management, general case management and ICT.
The Academic Association offers a range of services, including advice on employment contracts and part-time jobs. Members have access to free insurance, such as digital medical assistance and theft insurance, as well as the opportunity to participate in free courses that can strengthen your CV. The organization focuses on employment law, wages, collective bargaining and negotiations, and provides support for shop stewards and organizational development. The Academic Union is part of Unio, which is the country's second largest main organization on the employee side, and covers all tariff areas with the exception of the NHO sector.
