Kompetansforbundet is an organization whose aim is to promote lifelong learning and develop educational offers relevant to working life. The association organizes the approved study associations in the Ministry of Education and Science and works to strengthen further and further education provision, as well as to increase integration into the labor market. In 2024, 190,000 people participated in continuing education, which underlines the association's focus on skills development.
The organization offers specialized leadership courses in security and preparedness, aimed at both the public and private sectors. In addition, the Competence Association collaborates with the University of Florence to highlight non-formal learning in Europe. The association has also been awarded NOK 61 million for the development of tailor-made educational offers, and has recently submitted a report to the government on a new skills reform. Nominations for the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame are also open, demonstrating the association's commitment to the recognition of lifelong learning.
