The Norwegian Mushroom and Useful Plants Association is an association of local associations that focus on the sustainable use of natural resources. The association offers courses that give participants insight into mushroom and useful plant understanding, as well as opportunities to learn about edible species. The member associations organize trips, courses and cooking workshops, where local cooking is at the centre.
The association also offers digital mushroom control, which contributes to the safe collection of mushrooms. In addition, a survey of species in the local environment is carried out, and mushroom checks are arranged to ensure that mushrooms found are safe for consumption. Arts and crafts with natural colors from mushrooms and plants is another activity that is promoted.
The Norwegian Mushroom and Useful Plants Association works to increase knowledge about alien species that can threaten Norwegian nature. Through national meetings and cooperation between the member associations, the association promotes commitment and interest in mushrooms and useful crops throughout the country.
