The Norwegian Artists' Association is an interest organization established in the autumn of 2000, with the aim of combating genre discrimination in music, particularly aimed at the pop and rock genres. The organization has a nationwide focus, but has its office in Gardermoen by Oslo Airport. It is led by Reidar Brendeland, who has a background and interest in music as well as artists' rights and well-being.
The association offers membership with exclusive benefits for musicians and artists, and has developed Fristad Studios, which are specially adapted quality studios for musicians, producers and sound engineers. The Norwegian Artists' Association actively participates in events such as IMS Ibiza 2025, which focuses on generational development, and organizes the Finding Festival to promote artistic collaboration. The organization also informs on important issues in the music industry, including topics such as artificial intelligence and revenue distribution, and has a history of distributing significant funds to its members from Norwaco.
