The Norwegian First Aid Council was established in 1976 as an ideal cooperation body for voluntary organisations, foundations as well as public and private enterprises. The organization currently has 26 member organizations which together represent a membership of 1.5 million people. The council's task is to manage guidelines for first aid and spread knowledge about first aid to the population through its member organisations.
The organization works to ensure the quality of instructors and businesses that offer first aid training. Through the development of standardized course concepts, the Norwegian First Aid Council facilitates quality-assured first aid training. The aim is to reach everyone in Norway with life-saving first aid knowledge.
