Norsk Jazzforum is a membership and interest organization that works for the Norwegian jazz community. The organization's aim is to promote jazz's conditions both culturally, politically and artistically. Through various activities and projects, the Norwegian Jazz Forum contributes to strengthening jazz's position in society.
The organization offers scholarships for musicians and bands, which provide the opportunity for personal deepening and practice. In addition, they arrange seminars and concerts, and have developed a map of Norwegian jazz clubs and festivals. Norsk Jazzforum also awards prizes such as the Jazz Prize, the Jazz Club of the Year and the Big Band Prize to recognize outstanding contributions in jazz. They have a special focus on jazz for children and young people, and work on projects aimed at this target group. Furthermore, they act as a platform for music actors to debate music policy and social responsibility.
