Oslo Handicrafts and Industry Association is Norway's oldest business organisation, established in 1838. The association's aim is to promote quality in vocational training and strengthen the position of craftsmen in society. With 850 members from 20 different guilds and associations, it represents a wide range of trades. The association offers 100 different journeymen's certificates, which helps to raise professional competence among craftsmen.
In addition to focusing on recruitment for trades, Oslo Handicrafts and Industry Association is actively involved in industrial policy work. The organization works to protect trades and skilled workers, and aims to ensure that the skills of craftsmen are recognized and valued in society.
