Oslo og Omland Friluftsråd is an inter-municipal outdoor council comprising 19 municipalities and 42 member organisations. The council's aim is to promote the protection of nature and sustainable, nature-friendly forestry. In addition to working with the conservation of natural areas, they arrange consultation meetings for the Multi-Use Plan for Oslo Municipality's forests, which contributes to the overall management of these areas.
The organization also offers courses and activities aimed at schools and immigrants, with a focus on increasing knowledge and interest in outdoor life. In connection with Friluftslivet's year 2025, a number of events are planned to engage the local community. Volunteers can participate in various projects, and emphasis is placed on honoring coastal culture and zealots who work to promote outdoor life in the region.
