SAFO Oslo is an umbrella organization that represents disabled people's organizations in Norway. It was established in 1995 and aims to promote human rights and equality for people with disabilities. The organization collaborates with several actors, including the Norwegian Handikapforbund, the Norwegian Association for the Developmentally Disabled and the Norwegian Association of the Deaf, to make the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities a reality in Norway.
SAFO Oslo works actively to remove barriers in society that lead to discrimination against people with disabilities. The organization focuses on important areas such as living conditions, education, work, universal design and equal health services. It also organizes conferences for networking and gives consultation opinions and input on political matters. In addition, SAFO offers information and tips to parents about inclusive education, and works to ensure that everyone has access to the necessary resources and support.
