The Travellers' Club was established in 1928 by a group of travel-loving men in Oslo. The club was formed following an invitation from the author F.D. de Vauvert, who gathered stakeholders for a meeting to discuss the creation of a travel association. The first meeting took place on 23 January of the same year, and the club was originally called "Trampelaget" before the name was changed to Travellers' Club. With over 90 years of history, the club has maintained a tradition of social gatherings and exchange of experiences among its members.
The club has weekly meetings every Wednesday in its own premises in Josefinegate. The meetings usually include a three-course dinner prepared in the club's kitchen, and lectures are held every two weeks, often focusing on travel experiences from different parts of the world. The Travellers' Club currently has approximately 120 members, of which 35-40 regularly attend the meetings. The atmosphere in the club is inspiring for those who have an interest in travel and adventure.
