The Humanist School is an independent secondary school in Oslo, established in the autumn of 2015. The school has a teaching philosophy based on a secular, humanistic outlook, with an emphasis on critical thinking as a fundamental skill in all subjects. Teaching takes place in premises at Ullevaal Stadium, and the school offers a flexible timetable as well as learning workshops that facilitate varied learning methods.
The school has rolling classes and non-uniform classrooms, and does not use traditional textbooks. The students get flexible time and participate in weekly mentoring sessions that provide thorough academic guidance. The humanities school also arranges engaging guests and inspiring excursions every week, as well as two school trips abroad during the school year. The school has received recognition for its safe and good school environment, and was voted Norway's best secondary school with 22 first places in the Student Survey 2023.
