Montessori school Lyse, established in 1993, is one of the oldest Montessori schools in Norway. The school is located in Villa Lyse on Ullerntoppen and offers an educational alternative for students aged 6 to 16. With 158 pupils, the school focuses on developing a good atmosphere in the classrooms, where learning takes place in an inspiring environment.
The school follows an approved Norwegian curriculum based on Maria Montessori's pedagogy. This involves a structured school day with two work sessions and longer breaks, as well as an emphasis on independent learning and curiosity. The Lyse Montessori School aims to give children and young people a deeper understanding of the world and nature, and also offers an open day for visitors, where you can meet both students and teachers.
