The language center for intensive Norwegian education in Oslo School offers Norwegian education to newly arrived students. The centre's aim is to facilitate a smooth transition to the Norwegian school system by mapping the pupils' school background and adapting the distribution of subjects and hours according to their needs. In addition to Norwegian education, the center offers homework help and swimming lessons, as well as health and welfare services such as a health nurse and school dentist.
The center places great emphasis on creating a safe and good school environment for the pupils. Outward-oriented activities are also carried out and guidance is provided to schools to support the integration of newly arrived pupils. In addition, the Language Center organizes courses and activities for both students and parents, which helps to strengthen the community around the school. The center was established as a project in 2014 and has since become part of the normal operation of Oslo School.
