Oslo Kendo klubb was established in September 2001 and is a sports club that focuses on kendo, a Japanese martial art that involves sword fighting. The club is a member of both the Norwegian Martial Arts Association and the Norwegian Sports Association, as well as affiliated with the European Kendo Association. This gives members access to a wide network of resources and events within kendo.
The club has an inclusive approach and welcomes members of all ages, from 9 years and upwards, including adults over 50. Beginner and introductory courses are offered for those interested in learning kendo, as well as training for both beginners and advanced players. Parents are encouraged to train together with their children, which promotes community and cooperation within the club. The training takes place at Haukåsen School, where members can develop their skills in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
