Søndre Nordstrand Riding Club, founded in 1991, has over 500 members and is based at Lofsrud farm, which is owned by Oslo Municipality. The club offers a riding school with a focus on horse welfare and the use of school horses, as well as pony courses and riding camps. Vaulting courses and weekend activities are also organised, which contributes to a varied offer for riders at different levels.
The club has an active spirit of service, with regular services that are necessary for the running of the riding school and stables. Permanent trainers with experience in riding ensure quality in the teaching. Members have access to resources and a license for competitions, and the club has athletes who compete in jumping, dressage and vaulting, both nationally and internationally. Søndre Nordstrand Rideklubb has also achieved several Norwegian championships in vaulting.
